Medicaid Eligibility

There are numerous categories of eligibility for Medicaid in Pennsylvania.  The easiest means of determining whether you might be eligible for Medicaid under one of the available categories, is to use our Quickscreen tool.  Click here to use our quickscreen tool.  For detailed information on Medicaid eligibility, visit our publications page and review one of our extensive manuals.  For individualized assistance, please contact our helpline at 1-800-274-3258/ 1-866-236-6310 TTY.

Access to Healthcare through Medicaid

In Pennsylvania, Medicaid services are provided through different "delivery systems" depending on what category of Medicaid you are in and what part of the state you live in.   You may be receiving your Medicaid through "Fee-for-Service", "Access Plus", "Voluntary HMOs" or "Mandatory HealthChoices HMOs".  How you access services through each of these systems differs.
