You are eligible for full benefits under MA, as long as all other MA requirements are met, if you fit into one of the following categories:
Lawful
permanent residents
Persons permanently residing in the
US under "color of law"
(an immigrant whose presence is known to
the government and who is allowed to remain in the US with the knowledge and permission of the INS)
* Anyone unsure of PRUCOL status should check with an immigration attorney before applying for MA, since DPW does contact INS to verify PRUCOL status. Also, it's a good idea to verify with an attorney whether MA will affect ability to get a "green card" in the future.
Refugees, Asylees and Cuban and Haitian Entrants
Persons Paroled in the US for one year or more
Certain battered spouses and children
Persons granted Withholding of Deportation or
Withholding of Removal
Even if you do not fit into one of these
categories, you may be eligible for Emergency Medical Care.
