The following are examples of activities the Pennsylvania Campaign for Affordable Health Care conducted to enroll Medicare beneficiaries into health care programs to supplement their Medicare.
- Outreach and enrollment at HUD 202 Housing Sites--in targeted areas of state
- Engaging agencies and property management companies to commit to screening all Medicare recipients for eligibility--100% Pledge Project
- Working with Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program to inform applicants about other programs
- Outreach through Meals on Wheels -- through targeted AAAs throughout the state
- Outreach through local grocery stores--Dominican Grocer Association outreach
- Outreach by State Senators to constituents age 65 and over
- Pilot project to reach out to PACE applicants who appear eligible for Medicare Savings Programs
We also informed people about the healthcare and cost-savings programs available to supplement their Medicare by
- Providing informational materials to the public
- Widely distributing our newsletter
- Partnering with religious groups to disseminate information
- Providing regional training to housing service coordinators, Legislative Staff, retirees, senior centers, etc.
