Celebrating Administrative Professionals Day!
In honor of Administrative Professionals Day, we are excited to shine a spotlight on Caroline Rivera, PHLP's Project Administrator. Caroline works behind the scenes every day to keep PHLP running like clockwork. From managing operations and troubleshooting tech to building reports and even adding a little fun to our systems, Caroline is the steady hand that helps our team stay focused on what matters most—fighting for healthcare access for Pennsylvanians. We asked her a few questions so you can get to know the person who makes it all happen...
Q: How long have you been at PHLP, and how would you describe what you do here?
A: This is my third year at PHLP. I oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. My role involves managing administrative and operational workflows, and supporting program staff so they can focus on PHLP’s mission.
Q: Has there been a moment at PHLP where you thought, “This is why I’m here”?
A: Yes, during our Medicaid Defense work in 2025, I had a clear “this is why I’m here” moment. It was truly all hands on deck, and the dedication from our team was inspiring. Staff worked tirelessly to keep clients informed and supported, fighting to ensure people didn’t lose access to healthcare. We also educated those who may not have realized how critical Medicaid is. A lot of changes are happening, but being part of that collective effort—and seeing the real impact on people’s lives—reaffirmed why this work matters to me.
Q: What’s the most unexpected skill this job has taught you?
A: I’ve learned so many new tech skills—not just for troubleshooting, but even small things like coding our case management site so it has fun decor on it. I like building reports and collecting data, and it’s been great to get different opportunities to expand my tech skills.
Q: What’s on heavy rotation right now?
A: I am a huge Beyoncé fan, so a lot of her music, always. 🎵
Do you have any pets?
