Pennsylvania’s Department of Human Services (DHS) has confirmed that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will not be distributed for November.  No one will be paid their SNAP benefits until the federal government shutdown ends or Congress acts to fund the SNAP program.   Nearly two million Pennsylvanians rely on SNAP benefits each month to put food on the table.

DHS officials say SNAP recipients should continue to complete and submit their renewal paperwork even while the benefits are paused.  The new SNAP work requirements are also still in effect.
