PHLP is excited to welcome Carolina Paul, who joined our team in September as a Bilingual Paralegal. Carolina works across our case teams to help Spanish-speaking clients get the health care services they are entitled to, and she brings extensive legal aid experience to the role. We asked her a few questions so you can get to know her:
What motivates you to do direct client work in health care?
"I believe that every person, regardless of income or national origin, deserves quality healthcare that allows them to live with dignity."
You have extensive legal aid experience. What draws you to the field?
"Too often, people face systemic barriers to meet their most basic needs. I'm motivated to even the playing field for people who are fighting for their rights."
What do you like to do outside of work?
"I like to read and ride my bike around town. I have notions of becoming a gardener, but my success so far has been mixed."
